Camera & Lens Cheat Sheet
A visual cheat sheet for cameras, lenses and film stocks. Same subject, same scene, one variable changed at a time, so you can see exactly what each choice does. 21 examples, every one with the exact prompt line under it.
Step by step
HOW TO USE
1. Open the cheat sheet from the link below the lesson.
2. Start with the callout at the top: KODAK IS FILM, ARRI IS A CAMERA. They are different layers and you use both in the same prompt.
3. Go through the LENSES section. Same woman, same street, only the lens changes. Pick the focal length that matches the feeling of your shot.
4. Go through the FILM STOCKS section. Same diner, same shot, only the stock changes. Pick the colour and grain you want.
5. Copy the line under each example straight into your prompt.
6. In a hurry? Jump to READY-MADE COMBOS at the end. Camera, lens, aperture and stock already matched. Copy one and swap in your subject.
TIP: stack one choice from each layer in one sentence. Camera, then lens, then aperture, then film stock, then the light.
