Live Action Remake: Step by Step
A step-by-step guide to turning any animated movie into a photorealistic live-action film using AI tools.
Cut the scene
Pick a 20-40 sec scene. Cut it into separate shots at every scene change. Export each shot as a clip + grab ONE clean keyframe per shot (clear pose, no motion blur).
Convert keyframes
Run each keyframe through this prompt. Attach the cartoon frame + your best previous live-action frames as references, so characters stay identical across shots. Fill in the [brackets].
Animate
Tab: Edit Video → Kling 3.0 Omni Edit (NOT Motion Control — it breaks on multi-character scenes and cuts the video short). Upload: original cartoon shot as the video + your live-action frame as the reference. 1080p, Auto settings on, duration = shot duration.
Repeat for every shot
Steps 2-3 for each shot. Always reuse your first successful frame as a reference anchor, so the cast, light and palette never drift.
Assemble
Stack the shots with hard cuts (no transitions). Split screen 9:16: original on top, remake on the bottom. Lay the original audio as one track across the full length. Check hands, paws and small details on every shot. Post it.
