Ten-year-old Minh rides the family buffalo out to fly the kite his grandfather never finished.
Something answers from the clouds.
Bamboo ribs. Patched sailcloth. One enormous, gentle eye.
Now it is tied to his spool, and it is homesick.
The rope is the only thing keeping it here.
It is also the only thing he has.
